For everything I do, I always seem to take away a souvenir that is somewhat unrelated to the activity! It's odd, but these unrelated keepsakes never fail to bring back memories. I know lots of people have certain things which take them back to key moments in their life - smells, sounds, items - so I thought I'd share a couple of mine with you...
National Youth Theatre
In 2008, I trained in Acting and Stage Management at the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. I learned loads on the courses and subsequently when working on NYT productions over the next few summers. However, if you asked me what is my first thought when you say National Youth Theatre I would have to answer that it is of Primark's light blue ripped jeans! I bought these jeans before I went on my first NYT course and wore them so much that I now can't think of one without the other!

America
When I was 14, I went to America for the first time for my cousin's Bar Mitzvah. Whilst we were over there my grandparents bought me an iPod so (obviously!) I had to set to work trying to put some music on it... I'd never had an mp3 player before, so just listened to the radio or whatever CDs were in the house. With my cousin's help, I loaded Rockstar by Nickleback and Hey There Delilah by Plain White T's as well as a few other songs. Now, every time I hear those songs (Rockstar in particular, because I played it to death!) it takes me right back to that trip!

Primary School
It's a while ago now and I remember very little of primary school! I've forgotten the lessons, I don't remember much of playtimes, or packed lunches (which is probably for the best!!)... But I can clearly remember two things... Shiny foil on the wall displays (because I got shouted at for touching it!) and the prickly carpet that was in the school library... which we had to walk through bare footed for some strange reason! I was clearly traumatised by both of those as the memories are enduring!
