Every Saturday evening I present a show on Cam FM (an FM and online radio station based in Cambridge, UK). The show is all about theatre and musical theatre "ShowTunes".
Unfortunately, this Saturday's show has been cancelled because of a football match... (Would you rather listen to songs from the musicals or a football match?!) So, I thought we could just do the show here - DIY style! Let's give it a go:
Hello there! You're reading(!) ShowTunes - the first episode of my weekly musical theatre radio show to be written down with links for you to play the music yourself! Let's get cracking with a great song from 'Legally Blonde':

Hello there! You're reading(!) ShowTunes - the first episode of my weekly musical theatre radio show to be written down with links for you to play the music yourself! Let's get cracking with a great song from 'Legally Blonde':
The perfect thing about ShowTunes DIY-style is that you can keep reading whilst the song is playing and skip any songs which aren't your cup of tea (or you've played them to death recently!)...
I saw a preview of 'Legally Blonde' when it was at the Savoy Theatre in London and the show cloth got stuck when it was supposed to be struck to the fly tower after the opening scene! Thankfully it successfully flew out on the second try!
Onwards and upwards! The next song on our playlist is equally cheesy. It's become a massive hit on both Broadway and the West End - in fact I reckon it's fair to say that 'Wicked' is now even more popular than its parent musical 'The Wizard of Oz'! 'Defying Gravity' is a particularly powerful song and in our DIY version of the song you can even choose to skip the intro and get straight into the song!!

"I hope you're happy now"! Whether or not you are, we shall quickly move on to our next show tune - maybe this time we'll dip into something a bit quieter... 'Once' has recently opened in the West End (it was made into a film a few years ago) and it has some really lovely music in it, like this song, 'Falling Slowly':
Isn't it a lovely song? It's a love story set in Dublin from what I've gathered... One on my list of things to see, but not before 'The Book Of Mormon' and 'Matilda'! Here's 'When I Grow Up' from 'Matilda' with an entirely unscripted introduction from David Walliams!!
Well, we've played a song from one of the musicals that I'm desperate to see so it's only fair that we give a song from 'The Book of Mormon' a spin as well!
Why don't we throw in one last song for good measure?! 'Top Hat' has been nominated for so many awards this year and has received rave reviews left, right and centre. So, I thought we could end with a song from that... 'Puttin' on the Ritz' was made famous by Fred Astaire, but the song was sung by Harry Richman before him, and that's who's going to sing and dance us out of our ShowTunes DIY special!
I hope you've enjoyed ShowTunes DIY-style! If you like this sort of music, do make sure to join me next time ShowTunes is on air and online! Let me know if you have any musical theatre recommendations in the comments...
